Travel Lodge Ipswich

Although you can select from three Travel Lodge Ipswich hotels to choose from, none of the are actually located in or close to the town of Ipswich itself.  Although they make an ideal location for you to discover what the county of Suffolk and the town of Ipswich have to offer you will need transportation to get to them.

In Ipswich itself, a popular attraction with visitors to the town is the Ancient House that is a Grade I listed building.  The façade of this house actually provides you with a great example of pargeting a form of elaborate plasterwork.  The four panels on the outside of the building represent the various continent of Europe, Africa, Asia and America, but does not include Australia as at the time of them being made this part of the world had not yet been discovered.

Another building, which also proves extremely popular with visitors to Ipswich, is the Christchurch Mansion.  This Tudor mansion is located in Christchurch Park and is only a few minutes walk from the town centre.  Here you will be able to view one of the best and largest collection of Constable and Gainsborough paintings to be found outside of London.  But as well as these works of art there are other things that you will enjoy looking at, including a collection of Victorian dolls houses and toys as well as paintings by other artists from Suffolk.    So there will be plenty for one to see and admire during a visit to this place.
