Travel Lodge Lancaster

The Travel Lodge, Lancaster is actually located in a motorway service area close to the M6 Motorway.  But in order to gain access to it one needs to travel along the North bound carriageway of this motorway and is located between junctions 32 and 33 of it.

However, although not actually close to the town of Lancaster it still provides you with a good base to get to many of the attractions of this ancient town.  One attraction, which is popular with many visitors to the town, is Christ Church.  Although it may look like any other, Anglican Church from the outside inside the decoration is truly amazing.  Along with the roof recently being restored using gold inlay, the pews on which you can sit and reflect have also been well preserved.

Another attraction, which many visitors to Lancaster enjoy, is its castle.  Since Roman times, there has been a defensive fortification on this site, which has protected the town from marauding Picts and Scots and other forces from around the country.  Today however, the Crown Court attached to the castle is still used by the English legal system.  Sometimes the castle itself is used by local theatre groups for performances of some of the greatest plays written by the likes of Shakespeare.

However, for those who are a little more macabre you can view the Dungeons and the Drop Room as well as Hanging Corner.  It is here that the Lancashire Witches were brought to account and tried for their believes and found guilty.
