Travel Lodge Taunton

The Travel Lodge, Taunton is in fact located at a retail park known as Riverside at Hankbridge Farm.  This particular affordable accommodation is located on the outskirts of this beautiful Somerset town, and there are good public transport links, which will get you to it. 

The town of Taunton along with the rest of the county of Somerset has plenty to offer those who choose to visit it.  In Taunton, one can visit the Castle along with the Somerset County Museum.  Whilst if you have a car you may wish to travel a little further a field and visit such attractions as Willows & Wetlands Visitor Centre.

Although the Castle you see today in Taunton was restored once more in 1874 the original building on the site dates back to early 12th Century.  Through out its time the building has been witnessed to many major events in the town's history.  For a considerable length of time, it was the administrative centre to the Bishops of Winchester and was also used by Judge Jeffries to hold the trials against the countries rebels at the time of the Assizes. 

However, if you are looking for a fun filled day out then a visit to the Willows & Wetlands Visitor Centre at Stoke St Gregory, near Taunton should be considered.  Entry to the site is free and you can learn more about growing and use of willow and you can even buy some handcrafted products to take home as presents.  Plus why not take time out whilst exploring the site and enjoy a light snack in its tearoom.
